Infiniti has an diverse lineup of high performance vehicles. It's at the peak of its game, but that doesn't mean it's content to merely update its current offering year after year. It's always looking to reinvent.
According to Andreas Sigl, the head of Infiniti's Formula 1 partnership with Red Bull, the automaker is looking for something big, bold, and powerful in the near future. For used Infiniti drivers and Infiniti fans nationwide, they're not quite sure what that might entail.
We do have a few clues. Based on Mr. Sigl's comments, it's clear Infiniti is looking for a car to rival the raw performance of an F1 racer. Looking at the Infiniti concepts being considered for production (the Emerg-E and Essence), both would serve as excellent flagship vehicles. Are they the future of Infiniti?
The Essence Concept has a twin-turbo, direct-injection 3.7-liter V6 and electric motor hybrid capable of 592 horsepower. As for the Emerg-E, this range-extended electric vehicle can reportedly go from 0-60 in four seconds flat.
At Fields Infiniti of Glencoe, we're waiting along with fans in anticipation of what Infiniti has in store for us in the upcoming years. Whether it's a flagship supercar or some vehicle we can't even imagine, one thing is for sure: we can't wait to test drive it!
