The wait for the next-generation Infiniti G is almost over. For fans of Infiniti, Chicago drivers, and prospective Infiniti buyers, the wait for a new Infiniti G has been a long one. This model hasn't received an update since 2009.
However, everyone's patience is being rewarded. Next year, Infiniti is unleashing a model with a new design and engine. Rumors speculate there will also be a hybrid variant!
Infiniti fans can thank Nissan VP Andy Palmer for the notice. This VP revealed the timeline of the Infiniti G, but was tight-lipped about the specifics. However, we do know the next Infiniti G will have a new four-cylinder engine, which is the product of its partnership with a fellow automaker.
This new engine will likely replace the 2.5-liter V6 currently under the hood of the G25. The next-generation four cylinder engine will likely be turbocharged as well. However, Palmer revealed that a turbocharged six-cylinder engine is potentially in the works as well.
At this point, it's too early to rule anything out yet, especially the prospect of the Infiniti G having a hybrid component. At Fields Infiniti of Glencoe, the Infiniti G has always been a popular vehicle. So we're excited to see how Infiniti will improve on it.
